This season my son literally cheated death by 5 cm due to a metal cleat lacerating his thigh. The wound was 12 inches long, so deep you could see the bone, was 1.3 cm away from tearing into his main muscle, and was less then 5 cm away from nicking his artery and bleeding out right on the field!
Our family is generations of baseball players... We truly love the game! However, I do not want this to happen again because next time the player may not be so lucky!
For pics of the wound, updates, and research on metal cleats I am setting up a Facebook page Named "YOLO FOR ALEX MOSES ACT".
We, the undersigned, call on the NYS High School Baseball Committee to eliminate the use of metal cleats in high school-related sports for the safety of the children.
