We believe that homosexuality is morally wrong and that the Young Professionals of Wichita (YPW) promoting a film or events that try to portray the Bible and homosexuality as compatible is offensive. We believe that Jesus says to hate the sin but love the sinner. So while we don’t condone their actions, we do show them Christ’s love.
YPW should not be promoting events that try to ridicule the beliefs of so many. Instead of being accomodating and not promoting a 'religious' event, they have decided to spotlight all the weeks events which include not just one but 3 offensive 'religious' events.
We, the undersigned, petition the Young Professionals of Wichita (YPW) and the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce to disassociate itself with the events of Wichita Pride.
In particular, the film “For the Bible Tells Me So” and the ‘Christian’ concert. We will not and would not be associated with an organization that promotes events that degrades our beliefs and ridicules those who believe like us.
