I am creating this petition to help put a stop to Honor killings in Jordon. This is a serious issue and needs to be addressed! i have read a novel called "Forbidden Love" by Norma Khouri,which is about an Honor killing. After reading this novel, i have realised that it still happens today around the world but it is an ancient tradition and is a serious issue in Jordon.
I have set up petitions and will be campaigning to help and stop honor killings in Jordon.
Honor killings are on the rise in Jordan! A campaign is underway to bring an end to honor crimes. We need to bring to the world's attention to the continuing practice of honor killing's in Jordon-an ancient tradition that encourages the murder of women who are believed to have brought dishonour to their families.
Today, is is still a crime that effectively goes unpunished but it has to STOP!! For example in February 2000, a 14 year old girl was at home talking on the phone, and her 13 year old brother strangled her with the phone cord. The youth confessed to murdering her and told the police that it was a crime of honor because she was talking to men on the phone. Everyone can help to put a STOP to Honor Killings in Jordon, so please help by signing this petition!!
