The USA has not adopted the covenants of the United Nation's Declaration of Human Rights. In the United States 1 in 8 people are food insecure; over a half million Americans are homeless and almost 28 million Americans lack health insurance.
I believe that Food is a Human Right. I call upon the United States Senate to ratify the United Nation's International Covenant on Economic Social and Cultural Rights - a covenant based upon the Declaration of Human Rights which defines an individual's right to basic necessities such as food, housing and health care. No one in America should go without food, housing and healthcare.
