The Duprees were founded in 1960 in Jersey City, New Jersey. They are the pioneers of Doo Wop music being married to the Big Band sound. Their brilliant incomparable harmonies, and arrangements of their recordings are unsurpassed in the industry!
The Original group members are: Joey Vann Canzano, Tom Bialoglow, John Salvato, Joe Santollo, Mike Kelly, and Mike Arnone.
The groups top charted hits include the globally recognized popular songs: "You Belong To Me", "My Own True Love", "Why Don't You Believe Me", "Have You Heard", and "As Time Goes By".
Original lead singer, Joey Vann Canzano had the most unique and real voice which brought The Duprees songs to life! Joey made you live each song with him through his magnificent vocal interpretations. Tom Bialoglow's awesome floating tenor voice was the group's signature "Icing on the cake". Joe Santollo's beautiful tenor voice combined with the beautiful bass/baritone voices of John Salvato, and Mike Arnone, made a blend with Canzano and Bialoglow that was unequaled in the industry.
Mike Kelly became the second lead vocalist for the group in the mid 1960's and into the 70's. Mike's beautiful smooth voice was responsible for the versatility of the group taking on various new styles to change with the times. The Duprees songs, and overall group appeal have created a "One of a Kind" style and sound that no other group has been able to achieve to date.

We the undersigned, respectfully urge you to induct The Duprees (The Original Group), into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
We believe this group to have accomplished the milestone achievement of creating a most unique new sound in the industry. They did this by combining "Doo Wop, Rock and Roll", with the "Big Band Swing" genre and style in the music industry.
The group is beloved by generations for over 52 years, and remain legendary for their incomparable unique sound and contributions to the music world!
Please give the 1960's brilliant Doo Wop band "The Duprees" strong consideration for induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
