Boris Johnson called a national lockdown to start on 31st October based on the advice of the Chief Medical Officer , Chris Whitty and with data from Imperial College London.
"On 14 October, scientists forewarned that the current rate of infection and hospitalisation is way worse than previously predicted for mid-October. According to Imperial College London data, an estimated 128 people per 10,000 have the virus, compared to 60 per 10,000 on 5 October. That’s over double the amount of infection in less than a month.".
However, as of 28th October 2020 (two days before we went into another national lockdown), Public Health England have produced a document called 'Cycle Threshold (ct) in SARS-CoV -2-RT-PCR. In this it is outlined that the PCR test can't detect an infectious virus.

Therefore, as there is no proper evidence of infection rates, we the people of Stroud and the Stroud district demand an end to all lockdowns in our district and to any further 'tiered lockdowns.'.
These damaging lockdowns are not only based on no clear evidence of rising infections, but are an infringement on all of our most basic rights; the right to work, run a business, earn money, buy and sell, trade, access health care, travel, see family, move freely and to freedom of speech and assembly. These lockdowns are destroying lives, livelihoods, the elderly, families and young people .
We live in a town and district that has always been proud of it's history standing up to injustices and for human rights, and it's a travesty and shameful that this has been allowed to happen here without any objection or resistance.

We demand that Stroud District Council and Gloucestershire Country Council immediately use your powers to stop and vote against any further restrictions and regulations , and to our MP (Siobhan Baillie), to also vote against the Corona Act and any further regulations or Acts that lead to lockdown or restrictions.
We ask that you join the anti lockdown group of backbench MP's to put a stop to this tyranny and support the people of Stroud.
