Order an inquest into the atrocious plane crash of Sunday 03rd of June, which claimed 153 lives
- Target:
- President Jonathan Goodluck
- Region:
- Nigeria
On Sunday 03rd June 2012, a plane crash occurred in Lagos Nigeria, which claimed 153 lives there were no survivors.
Amongst those on that flight, were brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, husband and children. The plane belonged to Dana Air.
What is the job of our Aviation and Security department, I ask? What checks were done on Dana Air or their planes, prior to them been issued with a licence? On Monday 04th June, President Jonathan Goodluck declared 3 days mourning, will this bring back the lives of those killed?
Will this comfort their families? Does the President even know who their families are or how the children who are now orphans will be taken care of?
Subsequently Dana Air’s licence has been revoked indefinitely; they should have never been issued with a licence in the first instance. What we need and want from you President Goodluck is for you to order an inquest into this atrocious incident, that any findings of any investigation conducted is published, that lessons are learnt, that Aviation laws are adhered to and not just a paper exercise, that there are tighter enforcements of aviation laws, that checks are conducted prior to any company been issued a licence, that any citizen of Nigeria can have access to these information in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2011.
Enough is enough we need and want answers and we want them now. We have a right to life and liberty-it is a basic Human Right.
We, the undersigned, call on President Goodluck and the Government of Nigeria to order an inquest into the atrocious incident which occurred on Sunday 03rd of June, which claimed 153 lives.
