Since the Christmas morning service on December 25, 2011, the world has witnessed a series of killings which, according to news agents, has left more than 90 Christians dead, leaving many others injured.
The group called Boko Haram has claimed to be responsible of these killings and has threatened all Christians to flee the Northern part of Nigeria, where they legally belong.
This petition is to urge the Nigerian government to do all that is its power to stop the killings and protect these innocent lives.
Dear Nigerian Ambassador to Tanzania,
We, the undersigned, are very concerned with the recent killings of Christians in the Northern part of the country of Nigeria, which started with the killings of about 45 Christians in a Christmas church service on December 25, 2011, the killings on which the Boko Haram group has claimed to be responsible.
We congratulate the government of Nigeria led by His Excellency President Goodluck Jonathan for all the steps it has so far taken to control the situation, including issuing the state of emergency to some states of Nigeria.
Dear, Ambassador, we want to let you know, we, the undersigned, are praying that God will restore peace in Nigeria and that its citizens will live peacefully. We also hereby, ask the Nigerian government to do all that is in its power to stop the killings of these innocent lives and enhance the freedom of religion in all the states of Nigeria.
We will keep on praying for Nigeria, not just for Christians, but for all her people and we trust that you will take our message to the Nigerian government and that appropriate measures will be taken when there is still time to.
May there be peace in all of Nigeria.
