Every minute 24 people have to leave their homes. That means that there are more than 34,500 people everyday that have to leave their homes. In the USA there are many refugees who try to enter the country. Refugees are people who escape their homes are seeking a better life in the US or other countries, but they're actually becoming more poor. They enter the US for example, with close to no money and it is hard for them to get jobs because they are taken advantage of. In the United States of America there is a policy for refugees that states that refugees seeking assistance, will be provided assistance. Although, this policy was created in 1980, when there wasn't nearly as many refugees entering the country. Now that there are thousands of refugees entering, the US is overwhelmed is not following through with their policy that they created. This is a huge problem because either the USA must change their policy or enforce it. If they change it then many refugees won't be getting the help they need, but if they enforce it all refugees will be provided assistance.

This issue matters hugely to all refugees and the government of the US. It matters to the refugees because if they aren't given the right amount of assistance, they won't be able to get jobs to pay for their everyday things, such as food and water. Refugees are being treated wrongly and it's not fair. For example, qz.com states immigration judge Angeles Reese didn’t accept any asylum requests out of 169. This means that 169 refugees were left with no assistance. This is also a problem for the government because, first of all, if refugees do not survive because they have no resources and the government isn't trying to help them it will make them look bad. On the other hand, if we enforce this policy that the government made then it will take a lot of resources to provide assistance to all refugees. It is a very tough decision but we must make it because we can't keep going the way it is now.

The USA has a policy but they won’t put it into action. Sign this petition if you think that refugees should have a chance of a better life in the US and that the US should enforce their policy.
